About Us

For real though, what is composting?

The process of composting helps to divert food waste from landfills.

But, why are we doing it?

Each day in the United States approximately one pound of food is wasted. This equates to over 100 million tons (81.4 billion pounds or 30-40% of food supply) of food waste in one year alone.

All of this organic waste ends up in landfills and begins to generate methane - a potent greenhouse gas. In choosing to compost instead, we can re-think waste management, significantly reduce methane emissions, and enrich earth's soils naturally.

Okay, what role do I play in this?

Your small, but impactful role, is pretty easy. There's no need to throw old clothes and get your hands dirty - we do all the work.
All you have to do is throw your banana peels (and the listed accepted compostable food items) in the provided bucket instead of the trash.

Seriously, that's it.
